Kratom capsules, tablets, shots and 7-OH: what you will not find with us and why

An overview of the kratom forms on the market - powder, extract, capsules, tablets, drinks and 7-OH concentrates - and why we sell only powder and extract with a lab report for every batch.

In brief

Kratom appears on the market in many forms: loose powder, liquid extract, capsules, tablets, "shots", gummies and concentrates of isolated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). We sell two of them - powder and extract. This is not a lazy limitation of the range but a decision based on what we can document for every batch and where instructions for use in grams make sense. This article describes the individual forms factually, including why we consider some of them risky.

Overview of forms

Powder

Dried and ground leaf; the standard form to which the instructions for use refer (3 g single serving, 10 g per day). Dosed by weighing; every batch has its own certificate of analysis. Packs of at most 50 g under the decree.

Extract

A concentrate obtained by water extraction and reduction; mitragynine content an order of magnitude higher than powder, with its own instructions in drops. See Kratom extract vs. powder for the technology.

Capsules

Powder filled into gelatine or vegetable capsules, usually 0.5-0.7 g each. The advantage is easy handling; the disadvantage is that instructions in grams require counting capsules by their actual weight, which differs between manufacturers, and that every pack size must meet the same labelling and report requirements as powder.

Tablets

Pressed powder or extract with binders. With extract tablets the alkaloid content per unit is often high and opaque; this is where "boosted" products appear most often.

Shots, drinks, gummies

Liquid or confectionery products with extract. From the regulatory point of view they are a psychomodulatory substance like any other; from the safety point of view the problem is that the form resembles ordinary food and invites repeated use outside the instructions.

7-OH concentrates

Products with isolated or semi-synthetically enriched 7-hydroxymitragynine - tablets, sublingual strips, shots. In kratom leaf 7-OH is present only in trace amounts (hundredths of a percent in our reports); in these products it makes up most of the content. In July 2025 the U.S. FDA recommended placing 7-OH under control as a scheduled substance and warned of risks including respiratory depression and dependence. In Czechia 7-hydroxymitragynine is listed among psychomodulatory substances as a kratom alkaloid; 7-OH concentrates have practically nothing in common with kratom leaf except the name.

Why we sell only powder and extract

  • Dosing according to the instructions. The instructions work with grams of powder and drops of extract. For both we can tell the customer exactly what and how much they have in hand.
  • A report for every batch. Every product has its own COA from VŠCHT Prague - mitragynine, 7-OH, heavy metals, microbiology. With capsules and tablets this would mean testing every form and every filling separately; without that, the product has nothing to document.
  • Labelling. The pack must carry the mandatory information, the batch number and a warning on a prominent part of the pack. With small forms (shots, gummies) this is practically impossible.
  • Safety. Forms that resemble sweets or energy drinks run counter to the purpose of the regulation - and they are exactly the ones for which the literature describes the most serious cases.

How to recognise a risky product

  • the pack lacks the "psychomodulatory substance" designation, the batch number or the mandatory information,
  • the seller has no Ministry of Health licence or does not state it,
  • there is no lab report, or only a "generic" one without a batch number,
  • the description promises an effect ("extra strength", "enhanced", "7-OH boosted"),
  • the product is sold outside a specialised shop - see where kratom may not be sold.

Frequently asked questions

Are you planning capsules or tablets?

Only if we can document a report for every filling batch and meet the labelling requirements in the same way as for powder. Until then we stay with powder and extract.

Is 7-OH legal in Czechia?

7-hydroxymitragynine is on the list of psychomodulatory substances as a kratom alkaloid. That does not make 7-OH concentrates "approved" - they must meet the same conditions of sale as kratom and their composition has nothing in common with dried leaf. We consider them risky and do not sell them.

Is extract the same as 7-OH?

No. Our extract is a water concentrate of the whole leaf with the natural ratio of alkaloids (mitragynine around 12 %, 7-OH in tenths of a percent). 7-OH concentrates contain a single isolated or enriched alkaloid.

Can I fill capsules with powder myself?

The law does not address it. The instructions for use, however, apply to grams of powder - so count weight, not the number of capsules, and keep the daily limit and the breaks.

Why are kratom tea bags a problem?

If they are not labelled as a psychomodulatory substance and have no report, they are an unlabelled product; moreover, "tea" suggests a food, which kratom is not by law.
