About kratom powder

Kratom powder is the physical form in which we sell the leaf: dried, finely ground leaf of Mitragyna speciosa, a tropical tree of the coffee family (Rubiaceae) and a botanical relative of coffee. It is the basic form of kratom - the instructions for use in grams, found on every pack, are written for it.

We offer the same leaf in three forms - powder, nano and extract - that differ only in physics, not in what they contain; nano and extract are separate forms with their own instructions, and powder is the reference one among them. Grind, measuring, preparation, packs and storage are the same for every powder strain and colour; how the strains and colours differ from one another is described on their own pages.

WORKING WITH POWDER

How to handle kratom powder

Practical steps according to the instructions for use on the pack - from measuring to storage. They apply to every powder regardless of colour and strain.

  1. Weigh, do not guess

The instructions state a single serving of 3 g. A teaspoon of fine powder weighs 2 to 5 g depending on how it is filled, so the only reliable measure is a scale with 0.1 g resolution. The enclosed scoop is for scooping, not for dosing.

  2. Stir into lukewarm water

Pour the weighed dose into 100-250 ml of lukewarm water and stir thoroughly. The powder does not dissolve, it disperses, so stir again before and while drinking. Keep the water lukewarm, not boiling.

  3. The daily limit applies to the total

The maximum daily amount of 10 g refers to all kratom per day, even if you alternate colours or strains. The product should not be used every day - there should be a 3-day break between uses.

  4. Do not convert doses between forms

The instructions in grams apply to powder. The extract has its own instructions in drops and is not added to powder; never carry a dose from one form over to another.

  5. Close it and store it dry

Close the pouch after every use and keep it dry, dark and at room temperature, out of reach of persons under 18. The shelf life of the batch is on the pack.

FORMS IN NUMBERS

Powder vs. nano vs. extract

Three forms of the same leaf. A comparison by grind, packs, strains and report values.

All three forms are the same Mitragyna speciosa leaf, differing in processing and physics. Powder is dried leaf ground to a fraction of around 80 mesh. Nano is the same leaf ground to particles below 50 μm, which changes its behaviour in water and the volume of a spoon, not the alkaloid content. Extract is a water concentrate with an order-of-magnitude higher mitragynine content, and so has its own instructions in drops. The instructions in grams apply to powder and nano; doses are not converted between forms.

POWDER · FROM LEAF TO INSTRUCTIONS

Kratom powder: composition, grind, preparation and the law

What kratom powder is

After harvest the stems and central veins are removed from the leaf, the leaf is dried according to the desired colour (kratom vein colours) and milled into a loose powder in shades from green to brownish red, with a characteristic grassy smell. Powder is neither an extract nor a concentrate: its composition matches the leaf. The leaf holds more than forty alkaloids, dominated by mitragynine, with smaller amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine, speciogynine and paynantheine - and how much of them a batch holds differs from batch to batch. That is why every product has its own certificate of analysis (COA) from VŠCHT Prague, which for that batch measures mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine by HPLC, along with purity, microbiology and heavy metals.

Fine grind and why the fraction matters

A standard fraction of around 80 mesh means particles up to roughly 180 μm. Such a fraction stirs in well but settles in the glass, so the powder is stirred again before drinking. The fineness of the grind matters above all for measuring: the finer the powder, the lighter it is by volume, so the same spoon holds fewer grams - and the less reliable a guess by eye becomes. The finest fraction, nano below 50 μm, we carry in the Rurut strain; it stays suspended longer and is lighter still. No grind changes the composition of the leaf, only its handling and measuring precision (granulometry of kratom powder).

Preparation according to the instructions

The instructions for use are part of the mandatory information on the pack and binding for powder: they set out a single procedure - weigh the dose, stir it into lukewarm water, drink. Boiling, steeping and "tea" recipes are not mentioned and we do not describe them; kratom is not a food and is not prepared as a drink to taste. How much, how often, with what break and what to do if the dose is exceeded is summarised in Kratom dosing according to the instructions.

25 g and 50 g packs

The decree limits consumer packs of a psychomodulatory substance to 50 g, which is why you will not find kilogram bags or "wholesale for everyone" with us. We offer two sizes - 25 g to try a batch and 50 g with a lower price per gram. Every pack is a resealable pouch labelled as a psychomodulatory substance, with a batch number, instructions for use and a best-before date. What makes up the price and how to compare price per gram is described in Cheap kratom vs. quality kratom.

Six powders across strains and colours

In this form we carry six powders: green, white and red Maeng Da, green Sumatra, green Thai and white Elephant. The strains differ in the origin of the leaf - Maeng Da, Sumatra, Thai and Elephant - and the colours in processing - green, white and red. The specific values of each of the six batches are in the report table above and on the strain page.

Powder, or capsules, tablets and 7-OH?

We do not offer capsules, tablets, shots or 7-OH concentrates. For loose powder we can document the composition of every batch and the instructions in grams make sense; for pressed and concentrated forms, controlling the content and the dose is far harder. Why we avoid them is set out in Kratom capsules, tablets and 7-OH; how our extract differs from powder is explained in Kratom extract vs. powder.

Storage and shelf life

Loose leaf has a large surface, so it quickly absorbs moisture and odours; in light and air it also oxidises, darkens and slowly loses alkaloids. That is why powder is packed in resealable pouches, and it is enough to keep them dry, dark and at room temperature - no refrigeration is needed, and temperature swings do more harm than good. The shelf life of the batch is on the pack; how long the powder keeps and how to tell it is no longer good is covered in Storing kratom powder.

The law and buying

Kratom powder is a psychomodulatory substance under Act No. 167/1998 Coll.: it may be sold only by a holder of a Ministry of Health licence and exclusively to persons over 18 after age verification. Our permit is on the Licence page; you can buy at our two shops in Prague or in the e-shop with delivery across the Czech Republic (delivery and payment). What we may and may not say about effects, and what science adds to it, is summarised in Kratom effects: what we may say.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions and answers from practice

Colour, purity, capsules and the differences between forms.

Is nano or extract stronger than powder?

The form - powder, nano, extract - changes only the physics: the grind, the behaviour in water and the volume of a spoon. How much of each alkaloid a product holds is set by the batch and its COA, not by the form. The extract is a concentrate, which is exactly why it has its own instructions in drops and is not interchangeable with powder.

Does colour indicate quality?

Colour corresponds to leaf processing (green, white, red) and to ageing, not to quality. Quality is documented only by the batch report - mitragynine content, purity, microbiology and heavy metals. The values of all six powders are in the table above.

Is your powder just leaf, or is anything added?

It is pure ground leaf with no fillers, colourings or added substances - no isolated 7-hydroxymitragynine and no other admixture. That it is the leaf alone, at the declared purity, is confirmed by the COA of every batch.

How can I tell the powder has gone off?

Darkening on its own is only oxidation, not spoilage. Do not use the powder if it has clumped or is damp, smells musty or mouldy, or shows visible mould. Unopened and stored correctly, it keeps until the best-before date on the pack.

Can I fill it into capsules myself?

The law does not address home filling, but the instructions still apply in grams - work out the dose and the daily limit by the weight of the powder, not the number of capsules. Why we do not offer capsules ourselves is explained in Kratom capsules, tablets and 7-OH.
