STRAIN · ELEPHANT (WHITE ELEPHANT)
Elephant kratom (White Elephant)
A strain named after leaf size, not after region or grade. With us as White Elephant from Borneo - finely ground, with a VŠCHT Prague report.
- Large leaf Named after leaf size
- White variety only Dried without direct sun
- Borneo West Kalimantan, Indonesia
About the Elephant strain
Elephant - Slon in Czech, carried by us as White Elephant - is a trade designation for kratom from conspicuously large leaves whose shape recalls elephant ears. It is neither a botanical variety nor a region, and it says nothing about grade: the leaf is named after its size. The plant is Mitragyna speciosa, and the leaf comes from Borneo (West Kalimantan) in Indonesia.
We carry it in a single variety, white, as a finely ground powder in 25 g and 50 g packs. It is a single-strain batch with its own VŠCHT Prague report; its values are in the table below and with the product.

THE PLANT AND ITS ALKALOIDS
What the plant is and what the leaf holds
Botany and composition are shared across strains; only the values of a given batch differ.
Mitragyna speciosa
An evergreen tropical tree of the coffee family (Rubiaceae), a botanical relative of coffee, from the humid forests of Southeast Asia.
Over 40 alkaloids
Mitragynine is the most abundant; in smaller amounts come 7-hydroxymitragynine, speciogynine and paynantheine.
What the COA measures
The accredited laboratory determines mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine and checks purity, microbiology and heavy metals.
LEAF, PROCESSING, REPORT
White Elephant: what the name means and what is in the pouch
Why it is called Elephant
A Mitragyna speciosa leaf usually measures 14-20 cm; on the trees this strain comes from it grows considerably larger, and it is that likeness to elephant ears that gave the trade name Elephant. Leaf size is set by the age and condition of the tree and the conditions it grows in, not by different genetics or a different species (kratom as a plant). Trees with large leaves are grown mainly in West Kalimantan on Borneo, Indonesia's main production area (Indonesia as a kratom supplier).
White processing of the large leaf
After harvest the stems and central veins are removed from the large leaves; the blade makes up a larger share of the leaf, so there is less waste. Drying follows without direct sunlight, in shaded or indoor drying rooms, which gives a light, yellowish-green powder - "white" is therefore a drying method, not the colour of the leaf on the tree nor its age (kratom vein colours). The same leaf processed the standard way would be green, with longer drying or a short fermentation red (leaf fermentation). The dried leaf is finally ground into a fine powder of around 80 mesh.
White Elephant and white Maeng Da
Both powders are white, finely ground and from Borneo - and yet they are two different batches. White Maeng Da is a grade selection of more mature leaf, White Elephant a selection by leaf size; that is the whole difference. In the reports they differ by mere hundredths of a percent of mitragynine, so which one is "stronger" cannot be said: the law forbids the seller to and the data give no reason for it (Kratom effects: what we may say). The values of both are in the comparison table and on the white kratom page.
One batch, one report
We carry this strain as a single product, so the lab test table below has a single row. When a new batch replaces the current one, the values and the row change; the batch number is always on the pack, so you know which report applies to yours. How to read a report row by row is described in the guide COA for kratom.
Instructions, packs, buying
The same instructions for use apply as for every powder of ours: 3 g per serving, at most 10 g per day, a 3-day break between uses, always weigh the dose (dosing according to the instructions); safety information is with the product and in Risks and safety. Packs of 25 g or 50 g in a resealable pouch with mandatory labelling. Sold only to persons over 18 after age verification, at our two shops in Prague or in the e-shop with delivery across the Czech Republic (delivery and payment).

THE NAMING PRINCIPLE
The only strain we carry in white only
A comparison by origin, colours, forms, grind and report values.
Our strains are named after different things. Elephant after leaf size, Maeng Da after a grade selection, Rurut after the fineness of the grind (nano), while Sumatra and Thai kratom carry the name of a region. Elephant, Maeng Da and Rurut all come from the same Borneo; what sets them apart is the selection principle, not the content, which is always a matter of the specific batch and its COA. Elephant is also the only strain we carry exclusively in white - the other white powder in our range is White Maeng Da. The table compares colours, forms, grind and COA ranges.
| Strain | Origin | Vein colours | Forms | Mitragynine (COA) | Grind | In stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maeng Da | Borneo, Indonesia | Red Green White | Powder, Extract | 1,38 - 1,55 % extract 12 % | finely ground, water extract | 4 products |
| Sumatra | Sumatra, Indonesia | Green | Powder | 1,32 % | finely ground | 1 product |
| Thai | Southern Thailand | Green | Powder | 1,28 % | finely ground | 1 product |
| Elephant you are here | Borneo, Indonesia | White | Powder | 1,49 % | finely ground | 1 product |

| Rurut | Borneo, Indonesia | Green | Nano | 1,46 % | nano (≤ 50 μm) | 1 product |
Mitragynin values are ranges from the COA of current batches (VŠCHT Praha) and change with every batch. You'll find exact values with each product.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions
Briefly on the name, processing and batch. Only the mandatory text on the pack speaks about effects.
White Elephant, Elephant kratom, Bílý slon - are they the same?
Yes. They are different spellings of one thing: kratom from large Borneo leaves that we carry in white. Listings sometimes add Borneo to the name, but it is still the same product.
Does "white" mean a younger leaf?
Not necessarily. Here the colour denotes the drying method without direct sun, which gives a light powder, not the age of the leaf. A large leaf also usually comes from mature trees.
Does a larger leaf mean a stronger one?
Leaf size is a mark of selection and appearance, not of strength. How much alkaloid content a powder holds is shown by the COA of the specific batch, not by size or colour; claiming strength from them is not allowed by law.
Do you also have a green or red variety?
Not yet, only the white is in the range. Any extension always depends on the availability of a batch with a lab report; the current status is visible in the catalogue.
