About green kratom
Green kratom is the leaf of Mitragyna speciosa harvested at medium maturity and dried without fermentation. "Green" in the name refers to the colour of the central vein at harvest, not to a botanical strain or a region.
As the leaf ages its vein shifts from light to red, and green is the midpoint. At this stage the leaf still holds plenty of chlorophyll, so fresh powder is deep green; over time it browns through oxidation, the first visible sign of ageing.
We apply the same green processing to leaf of different origins - selected leaf from Borneo, regional leaf from Sumatra and from southern Thailand. That is why there are more green items in the catalogue than in any other colour: they differ not in shade but in the place and the way the leaf is selected.

GREEN AMONG THE COLOURS
Green, white, red, yellow: how the processing differs
One and the same leaf gives four colours - the difference is in harvest maturity and in the drying method.
Two factors set the colour: how mature the leaf was when cut and how it was dried. Green - medium maturity and ordinary drying without fermentation. White comes from younger leaf dried longer without direct sun; red from mature leaf with the longest drying or a short fermentation; yellow from a special drying regime. In the lab reports the mitragynine ranges of green batches overlap with white and red, so colour tells you about processing while strength is set by the specific batch - its values are in the table below. The botanical and chemical background is covered in Kratom vein colours.
| Vein colour | Strains | Forms | Mitragynine (COA) | Grind | In stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Green you are here | Maeng Da, Sumatra, Thai, Rurut | Powder, Nano, Extract | 1,28 - 1,46 % extract 12 % | finely ground, nano (≤ 50 μm), water extract | 5 products |

Mitragynin values are ranges from the COA of current batches (VŠCHT Praha) and change with every batch. You'll find exact values with each product.
GREEN VEIN · IN DETAIL
Green kratom: the plant, processing, composition and choice
What the plant is and where the leaf comes from
Mitragyna speciosa is an evergreen tropical tree of the coffee family (Rubiaceae), a botanical relative of coffee; in the wild it grows up to 25 m in the humid equatorial forests and river lowlands of Southeast Asia (where kratom grows). The warm climate lets the leaf be harvested from the same trees year-round. The green leaf for our strains comes from three areas: Borneo (Kalimantan), the main producer today (Indonesia as a supplier), the island of Sumatra, and southern Thailand, the historical home of kratom (Kratom in Thailand). The region sets the strain, not the colour: it is the harvest stage that makes the leaf green, not the place.
How the leaf becomes powder
Green, white and red are not different plants but the same leaf, harvested at different maturity and dried differently; that is why a single strain comes in all three colours (the plant's life cycle). For green the leaf is taken at medium maturity, the stems and central veins are removed, and it is dried in the shade or a drying room, without the fermentation the red goes through. Drying without direct sun keeps the chlorophyll - hence the green colour. The dried leaf is milled to about 80 mesh, and Rurut to a nano fraction below 50 μm (about the grind); the grind changes how the powder behaves in water, not its composition.
Alkaloids and what the lab test shows
The kratom leaf holds more than forty alkaloids; the main one is mitragynine, alongside smaller amounts of 7-hydroxymitragynine, speciogynine and paynantheine. Green processing runs without fermentation, so the set of alkaloids in the powder changes less than with the longest drying. But how much of them a given batch holds is set not by the colour but by the batch itself: the accredited VŠCHT Prague laboratory measures mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine by HPLC, plus purity, microbiology and heavy metals (how to read a COA). A batch without a report is not put on sale.
Four green strains: how to choose
You choose between green strains not by shade but by origin, leaf selection and grind. Green Maeng Da - selected mature leaf from Borneo (about the strain - Maeng Da). Green Sumatra - regional leaf from the island of Sumatra. Green Thai - from the traditional Thai area. Green Rurut Nano - the only nano grind in the range. The alkaloid values of each batch are in the COA table below and on the strain page.
The 10 ml extract
The green 10 ml extract is made from green Maeng Da by water extraction: its mitragynine content is an order of magnitude higher than powder, so it has its own instructions in drops and is not interchangeable with powder. All concentrates are on the extract page; the difference from powder is explained in Kratom extract vs. powder.
Green for the daytime? What may be said about effects
Green is often assigned a "balanced" or "daytime" role. The psychomodulatory substances act forbids a seller from stating effects, and there is no basis for such labels: by the tests, the alkaloid ranges of green, white and red batches overlap. The only permitted wording about effects is the mandatory information on the pack, the same for every colour. What the law and science say is summarised in Kratom effects: what we may say.
Instructions, packs and buying
The same instructions apply to every green powder: 3 g per serving, at most 10 g per day, a 3-day break between uses, always weigh the dose (dosing per the instructions); the extract has its own. Packs of 25 g and 50 g in a resealable pouch with mandatory labelling. Sold only to persons over 18 after age verification - at our two shops in Prague or in the e-shop with delivery across the Czech Republic (delivery and payment).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions
Short answers to what people most often ask about the green vein.
Why do you have the most green strains?
Green processing - medium leaf maturity and ordinary drying - is universal and suits leaf of any origin. White and red need narrower conditions (younger leaf and drying without sun; mature leaf and long drying or fermentation), so there are fewer of them. Hence the widest choice in green.
Is green kratom weaker or stronger than white and red?
By the lab reports the difference in mitragynine between colours is in tenths of a percent, and the ranges overlap. Strength is a property of the specific batch, not the colour; it makes sense to compare COA figures, not labels. Stating effects by colour is not allowed by law.
Which strain should I choose?
By origin and form, not by shade: Maeng Da - selected leaf, Sumatra and Thai - regional, Rurut - nano grind. The exact alkaloid values of each batch are in the COA table above and on the strain page.
How does the extract differ from powder?
The extract is a water concentrate from green Maeng Da with an order-of-magnitude higher mitragynine content than powder; it has its own instructions in drops and powder doses do not carry over to it. Powder and extract are not interchangeable.
Green vein, GV, green kratom - are they the same?
Yes. "Green vein" (GV for short), "green kratom" and "green vein kratom" are one label for the colour of the central vein at harvest. Different sites spell it differently, but the same processing stage stands behind every name.
Why does the powder brown, and what to do?
Chlorophyll and alkaloids oxidise in air and light, and the powder turns brownish green. The shade itself does not say how much alkaloid content remains - only an analysis does - but darkening is a sign of ageing. You slow it with a closed pouch, dryness and darkness (storing kratom).
How is the powder dosed?
Per the instructions on the pack: 3 g per serving, at most 10 g per day, a 3-day break between uses, always weigh the dose. The extract has its own (more on dosing).
